Noise

There's no description that can begin to express the true image of mental illnesses, no artwork that can truly capture the artists' heartbreak and silent agony. The darkness of mental illness can't truly be understood until it's felt, but we still seek to express, to communicate that pain however we can, even those who suffer in silence. When your mind turns against you, when your thoughts become your enemies, it becomes a spiral that seeks to tear you down.
Awareness is the first step, recognition the next. Seeking help, though difficult, is when healing can truly begin. No one can go through it alone.
I drew this in the height of my darkness, when overwhelmed by self-hatred and pain. My desire is to bring attention and awareness to the mental health crisis that so many people struggle with.
