Expectations

Seeing stress among my classmates and feeling that same stress in my everyday social, academic, and extra-curricular life inspired the piece. Society expects us to be perfect in every facet of our life, and its harsh judgement comes at the cost of our happiness. We constantly feel isolated, left alone to fulfill society's impossible expectations. I hope to reach out to the countless other tired teens and make them feel seen; to assure them that they are not struggling alone against this wave of societal pressures.
